this years summer vacation was most enjoyable. i spent fifteen days helping my grandparents doing farm work in the countryside， where i saw mountains fields covered with green plants. sometimes i went swimming in the river to the west of the village， the water in which was quite clear.
i kept a diary every day. besides doing farm work， i help the children in the neighborhood with their lessons. all of them showed interest in english. they could read write wellthey could hardly understand simple english. so every day in the morning i spent about two hours helping them improve their listening spoken english. they all made great progress. their parents all thought highly of me. i now realize that knowledge is very needed in the countryside.

过年了，有很多好玩的，但我最喜爱的莫过于放烟花了。
去年，我和姑丈就说好今年要放烟花。所以，在过年前几天，我和姑丈主开始忙活了。我们首先要做的，就是寻找烟花爆笑专卖店。但在这样大的一个县城里，总共有十几条大街，且又相连得错综复杂，而烟花爆竹专卖店又少之又少，整整找了一下午，我们终于在河滨路一家化妆店旁，找到了一家大型的烟花爆竹专卖店。但此时天色已晚，我们没有开车来，烟花没法拿回家，于是我们决定明天再来。
第二天，我们早早地起来，开车到了那家烟花爆竹专卖店，到屋里一看，天哪，这里面的烟花爆竹可真多啊！从很小很小的甩炮，到较小的小型烟花，再到很大很大的冲天炮，可以说是琳琅满目、应有尽有。我们先买了四盒甩炮，再买了开门炮和好多烟花，中等个的有“金玉满堂”、“金银财宝”、“小毫龙”、“大地开花”等，大个头则有“小木偶”、“守财奴”、“锦上添花”、“孔雀开屏”等等。最后，我们要选一个的了！只见姑丈“嘿哟”“嘿哟”抬来一个大家伙，吼，这家伙真大，像一个大箱子！它还有一个响亮的名字：“一号”！（可见有多大了吧）我们费了九牛二虎之力才把“一号”和其他的烟花爆竹抬进了车里。我们总共付了五百八十五块！不过，姑丈说：“今天过年，高兴，多买一些，值得！”
我们高高兴兴地回家了。我等啊等，终于，天黑了！放烟花的时候到了！我们呼朋引伴来到了楼旁的一块大空地上，把买来的烟花从车里搬了出来。我先用香烟点燃小个头的“大地开花”，扔到地上，那鞭炮像一个陀螺一样飞速地在地上转起来，有如一朵在大地上盛开的花朵。
接下来是中等个头的“金玉满堂”出场！我点燃引线，它立刻爆起来，好象很多金子在往外冒。它足足燃了三四分钟。大家纷纷惊呼起来。大家都很奇怪，为什么它这么小却放了这么久呢？我仔细观察了一会儿，发现原来它是把整个身子一点一点燃烧掉的，到最后才剩下一滩灰，所以燃放时间相当久。
接下来我们又放了“小木偶”“锦上添花”以及一些不知名的烟花。最后，轮到“一号”出场了！我小心地点燃引线，立刻“逃之夭夭”。只听“就”“就”的尖啸声不断地响起，一枚枚礼花弹从箱子里窜向几十米的高空，“啪！”“啪！”……夜空中顿时绽出美丽的烟火，形态各异，绚烂极了，整个天空好像都被点亮了、叫醒了。我静静地看着，听着，数着，你猜，这个烟花总共有多少发呢？整整九十八发！
终于，烟花放完了。
放烟花真好玩。我下一年还要放烟花。

今天是大年三十，我早早的起床了，我们收拾完毕后，我和爸爸，妈妈到家附近的商场去采购年货。十分钟，我们到了商场。商场里，人山人海，商品是琳琅满目，动听的“恭喜发财，恭喜发财”的音乐回荡在耳畔，我们的心情格外舒畅。我们迅速就加入了“采购大军”的行列，两个小时后我们满载而归，拎着大包小包的“战利品”回家了。
晚上，我和爸爸去放鞭炮，鞭炮声震耳欲聋，天空中，蓝的，绿的，红的，黄的，紫的……五彩缤纷，万紫千红。
吃过年夜饭后，全家人围在一起包起了饺子。看着大人们都在包饺子，我和妹妹也按捺不住了，我和妹妹进行了包饺子比赛。起初，我们都不会包，妈妈耐心的教着我们：“拿好面皮，放入适当的馅，然后对折……”我按照妈妈的说法，我的作品完成了，我包的饺子像个小面饼，只能躺着，不能站着，可是我并没有灰心，我还是认真的练习，一个比一个“漂亮”了。这时，看着可爱的妹妹，妹妹满脸的面粉，好像“大白猫”，逗得我们哈哈大笑。我包的饺子下锅了，我看着自己包的饺子像蚕蜕皮似的，一会儿皮和馅就分开了。可是我吃着自己包的饺子，心里美滋滋的，像吃了蜜一样甜，我体会到了劳动的快乐。
